With all of the new coffee shops opening around Pasadena, it can be difficult for local cafés to stand out; but at the family-owned Café 86, the owners made sure to put an unforgettable spin on their menu items, influenced by the family’s Filipino background.

Dedicated to serving the purest teas, coffees and delectable desserts, Café 86 provides their customers with the freshest offerings for savoring. Their menu offers a wide range of items, including milk teas and milkshakes, espresso drinks, sandwiches, and baked goods. With such mouthwatering options, it’s no surprise that they’ve quickly become a hot spot.

While their café options have received great response from their customers, the selections that have really won over the hearts of their visitors are their “ube” menu options, ranging from lattes to ice cream sandwiches. A popular flavor in Filipino sweets, ube (purple yam) gives Café 86’s ube creations their signature violet color and smooth texture, and just the right amount of sweetness. The most popular item on the menu is the ube leche flan cupcake, a tasty combination of an ube cupcake base with creamy flan pudding layered on top. After taking a bite of this unique treat, you’ll be hooked!

Open daily. 36 W. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91105, 626.219.6915 or café-86.com.
