133rd Rose Parade Makes Its Long-awaited Return
Since 1890, the Tournament of Roses (tournamentofroses.com) has produced what has become affectionately known as “America’s New Year Celebration,” bringing the traditions of the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game to Pasadena and the nation.
On January 1, 2022, floral floats, spirited marching bands, and high-stepping equestrian units will make their way along the 5.5-mile route, starting at Orange Grove Boulevard before continuing on to Colorado Boulevard. The parade’s theme of “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” celebrates education’s ability to open doors, open minds, and change lives.
For those seeking a more immersive viewing experience, a $20 ticket to Floatfest (January 1-2) will get you into a two-mile showcase of the floats following their parade appearance. At Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards, attendees can take a closer look at the workmanship that went into each float entry and learn more about the design and building process from Tournament volunteers on hand. Comfortable walking shoes and early arrival are recommended.
