Pasadena Playhouse Offers On-line Theater Classes

The Pasadena Playhouse is continuing its role as a vital community service by offering on-line theater classes for people of all ages. May 12 – July 21 they are bringing back the sell-out Broadway Musical Class taught by Adam Epstein, Tony Award winning Broadway producer. For kids the Playhouse is offering two classes by award winning actress, athlete and educator Janet Fontaine. Miss Janet’s classes are intended to introduce theater to a younger audience. Play Time with Miss Janet, is for kids 4-6 and Story Time with Miss Janet for kids 7-10.

The Broadway Musical and America with Adam Epstein
Tuesday evenings, May 12 – July 21
11 sessions, $124 ($99 for members)

The course provides a broad overview of the American Musical from Oklahoma to the present and will focus on major works of theater like Oklahoma, Carousel, Gypsy, Cabaret, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly, Annie, Rent, Hairspray, Wicked, and Hamilton, and will include special Broadway guests.

Playtime with Miss Janet – 10am Saturdays May 16 – June 6 (ages 4-6/class length: 30-45 minutes.
4 classes, $49($39 for members)

A four session class exploring imagination through theater-based play. Song, story-telling, dance and games build socialization skills, boost confidence, and help kids identify their own unique talents and imagination.

Story Time with Miss Janet – 11am Saturdays, May 16 – June 6 (Ages 7-10/ class length 30-45 minutes)
4 classes $49 ($39 for members)

An introduction to character development through movement, improvisation and games. This class will spark imagination, build confidence and amplify the joy of self-expression through story telling.
