Since it opened its doors two and a half years ago, Home Brewed Bar has been giving coffee and tea lovers a homegrown café option that stands out from the numerous coffee chains in the area. Owner Brian Molina realized the area’s need for a cold brew tea and coffee house and decided to open shop on the bustling corner of Union and North Arroyo Parkway.
Home Brewed Bar specializes in coffee, tea and milk tea options that coffee connoisseurs, novices and even non-coffee drinkers will appreciate. Using the toddy method, the café brews its coffees and teas for about 20 hours—making them 67 percent less acidic and less bitter than conventional brewing. They also put quality above all else and even created their own house blend coffee with Pasadena’s Jones Coffee Roasters.
Although simple, their menu is bursting with flavor. Home Brewed Bar offers two styles of coffee (house cold brew and pure toddy), more than 10 types of tea, a variety of add-in flavors, drink enhancements as well as dairy and non-dairy options. If you can’t make up your mind, one of the baristas will be more than happy to help you create a satisfying concoction tailored to your taste. Between the superb customer service, cozy atmosphere and specialty drinks, Home Brewed Bar achieves its goal in making you feel right at home.
