Located in picturesque Sierra Madre, this cozy, quaint neighborhood bakery and café offers an array of melt-in-your mouth, carb-laden treats. Poppy Cake Baking Company, owned and operated by Brittainy and Matthew Turnquist, serves fresh, handcrafted breads and pastries that are baked in-house daily using high-quality, local ingredients. We swear the light, flaky croissants are more like something you’d expect to find on a Parisian corner than Sierra Madre and the apple bear claw has a near-cult following.
If you’re hoping for something a little lighter than a decadent delight, you can opt for Poppy Cake’s light lunches, like a freshly made sandwich, salad or soup (or go for all three, no judgement from us!) Sandwiches include Wagyu roast beef, turkey cranberry, and chicken pesto, to name a few—just make sure to save room for dessert.
The family-owned business takes a much needed break on May 13th but is back open on May 18th.

We can’t put into words how grateful we are for the support that we have received from the start of this pandemic. Due to the overwhelming support, we are able to close for a much needed break from 5/13-5/18. Every one here at Poppy Cake will be able to get some true rest and rejuvenation, and come back on the 19th ready to serve you!
