Pasadena party animals, get ready to roar, the annual L.A. Zoo summer music party is back! With exclusive access for the 18+ crowd, partygoers are invited to dance the night away to indie hits (8.26) sang by the “world’s first indie-rock tribute band,” the Black Crystal Wolf Kids, and relive the past with ‘80s pop tunes (9.16) from the likes of David Bowie and Prince.

The zoo certainly knows how to throw a party with fun features including a live DJ, food trucks and full-service bars that will be on site, animal encounters, zoo keeper talks, a game zone and an “Animal Artistry Paint Party” for an added twist of fun. You’ll definitely want to let your inner party animal loose.

As a special treat, eventgoers will receive special entry to the zoo’s latest exhibit, Dinosuars: Unextinct at the L.A. Zoo, where you’ll travel back in time to the prehistoric era. The exhibit provides an up close look at life of the larger than life reptiles and includes a chance to discover some intriguing finds in the fossil dig, explore a climbable Pachyrhinosaurus and enjoy lifelike 3-D views of all the dinosaurs.

Fri. 7 p.m.-11 p.m. Tickets $22-25. The Los Angeles Zoo, 5333 Zoo Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90027 or lazoo.org.
