Whether you’ve sought out to mark an occasion—be it an anniversary, holiday or milestone— chances are you’ve visited Arnold’s Fine Jewelry on Lake Avenue, which has the distinction as Pasadena’s oldest family-owned jewelry store and go-to for top–tier craftsmanship and customer service.
Currently helmed by owner Bruce Arnold, a third-generation jeweler and the grandson of founder C.O. Arnold, it’s apparent the passion for quality customer service and beautiful design offerings runs in the family.
In addition to showcasing many coveted luxury brands like Zeghani, Mira Style, Luvente, and Carla, Arnold’s offers the opportunity for discerning buyers to order their own personally customized and handcrafted heirloom quality pieces that will be cherished for years to come.
Arnold’s self-described “unsettled twenties” came to a halt when he asked his dad for a job. He started out on the bottom rung of the proverbial ladder, sweeping and engraving tracking numbers inside watch repairs. It wasn’t long before Arnold was assisting customers, eventually taking various Gemological Institute of America (GIA) courses, becoming a certified gemologist and member of the American Gem Society (AGS).
“Forty-five years later here I am, and here we still are,” says Arnold. “I like to think of us as ’the little engine that could.’ We can repair almost anything jewelry or watch–related and offer a wide selection of colored stone jewelry as well as custom design. Our staff is experienced—most have well over 20 years [of service] here—knowledgeable and friendly. We can solve most jewelry–related problems and show a lot of pretty things to entice our clients’ return visits. After the first 100 years [of business], it seems easy: show up and do your best.”
