On December 31, OUE Skyspace L.A. will play host to its first New Year’s Eve party. Ringing in 2019 from California’s highest open-air observation deck will certainly raise the bar (up 70 floors to be exact!) on your typical street-level celebrations. With sweeping views of the L.A. basin – from the San Gabriel Mountains to the Santa Monica Pier – you can expect to see something spectacular from every angle of the 360-degree observatory-turned-nightclub. And we aren’t just talking about the open bar!

Glistening below OUE Skyspace L.A.’s two outdoor terraces and two panoramic observation floors, Los Angeles’s New Year’s Eve celebrations come to life. The “city of stars” burns more brightly on December 31, illuminated with the cosmopolitan glow of Downtown and the pyrotechnic parades peppered throughout the city’s fireworks shows. Standing 1,000 feet high and commanding over 30,000 square-feet of unobstructed observation space, OUE Skyspace L.A. is the place to see it all.
True to its Singaporean-inspired design scheme, the space’s clean lines and white marbled interiors create the perfect canvas for the sparkling spectacle. Two fully-hosted bars will be serving a selection of locally-sourced beers, wines and a creative cocktail menu nodding to the city’s cosmopolitan scene. Making your way past the bar counter, you’ll notice a number of multimedia screens positioned around the 69th floor. Each one offers up interesting facts about the scenery before you.
Early arrivals can take advantage of the complimentary hors d’oeuvres prepared by OUE Skyspace L.A.’s Chef Gilda Giddens, whose past stints at Hotel Maya, The Foundation Room and Miro have literally “upped” her game up to the top of L.A.’s kitchens.
With a belly-full of bites and toasts to the night, early birds can also enjoy unlimited rides on the piece de resistance of the evening: the infamous Skyslide. Offering a perspective of Downtown like no other, this one-part window, one-part human chute propels guests through an all-glass slide suspended 1,000-feet in the air. Though sure to be scream-inducing, the glass is tempered and totally safe!
After sipping on fun local favorites like “Rush Hour” (Beluga Vodka, Kahlua, Espresso, Cardamom and Mint) and learning more about the city you’re presiding over, twirl into 2019 on two separate dancefloors featuring major acts like iHeartRadio’s Dre Sinatra. Hip-hop and house tracks will be spinning on the 69th and 70th floors well into the morning.
Midway through the evening, at the countdown to midnight, complimentary flutes of champagne will be passed around as you toast to 2019 from the top of L.A.

Tickets start at $150 and come with unlimited bar service, access to the two-story attraction, as well as complimentary passed appetizers and Skyslide rides for early arrivals. For those aiming to send off 2018 in style, purchasable VIP booths allow you to hold court over the evening affair. The package comes with three bottles and complimentary valet parking.
